Beyond Chromosomes: A Forum on Transgender Health Issues

Sponsored by the HIV Prevention Collective of the Berkeley Free Clinic and INWOGOHARP

Wednesday, November 12, 1997, 7-9pm 160 Kroeber Hall on the UC Berkeley Campus

This event was the second in a series of practical workshops organized by the volunteers of the Berkeley Free Clinic to help raise awareness about community health and HIV prevention. By far the best way to learn about the obstacles and oppression faced by transgendered people is to hear it in their own words. This forum provided an opportunity for four members of the East Bay Transgender Task Force to present their diverse perspectives on the legal and health issues faced by transgender population, with special reference to HIV prevention.
